Fiete

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Our animal welfare workers report: Fiete sat alone in a tiny cage in the public our shelter in Vaslui. Rain. Cold. Concrete. No protection, no closeness, no comfort. And yet he stood there, as people passed by his cage – with a wagging tail. He sought closeness. He hoped. As if to say: “Please… you must be good, right?” We have taken Fiete out of that cage. We know nothing about his life before. But we know what he has remained despite everything: an incredibly gentle, loving, and deeply trusting dog. His fur was in a terrible state, but Fiete endured everything. Our animal rescuers were able to touch, care for, and trim him everywhere – paws, eyes, ears. No growling. No fear. Only trust. A trust that one usually loses if one is forgotten for too long. Fiete has not lost his faith in people. He is friendly, attentive, and seeks closeness. He currently lives with a female dog, and it’s going well. His first contact with a male dog was difficult – perhaps insecurity, perhaps just bad luck. We still cannot discern a clear trend. He is a dog who needs time, understanding, and a safe routine. Fiete is estimated to be around 10 years old. Ten years… and yet he still waits. For his first real home. For a warm dog bed. For someone who stays. Who sees Fiete? Who finally grants this wonderful senior the life he so deserves? Please consider:

Beschreibung Unsere Tierschützer berichten: Fiete saß allein in einem winzigen Zwinger im öffentlichen Shelter Vaslui. Regen. Kälte. Beton. About Fiete

What life with Fiete looks like

Fiete is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fiete, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fiete?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fiete on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fiete if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fiete already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fiete isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fiete and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
