Fifi

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

I’m a friendly girl but do need a bit of time and love to allow me to trust Hi everyone, I’m Fifi. I unfortunately found myself coming to the sanctuary in need of a new home recently because my owner had to move home and sadly could not take me with her. I had lived with my previous owners since I was 1 year old, so for 7 years and was loved very dearly! My human dad sadly passed away which was very difficult for me and my human mom, however we helped each other through it. My human mommy said that he was my favourite person and I loved him so much. Of course, I loved my mom too and she loved me. She recently found it very difficult to make the decision to rehome me, but after trying everything, she needed to find somewhere to live, and this new place had rules that said no pets were allowed (not even a quiet little Fifi!)I was quite wary and grumpy whilst settling in here, which I’m sure is understandable as it is a lot for me to go through and I wasn’t sure what was happening. Thankfully, I began to trust the humans here after a few days and told them that actually I do want some tickles and cuddles please, but on my terms of course. I am a lovely girl and do enjoy cuddles and attention, but will sometimes hiss or hit out if I have had enough or if something upsets or worries me. My previous owner described me as a friendly, quiet lapcat, which I have shown here too, but as I don’t like other cats and there are a lot of them here, my stress and anxiety levels are heightened at the moment. Hopefully, once I go to a new home, I will feel a lot more settled, happy and safe. I just need to find the right person/people who will give me a chance and time to settle into their home, without expecting too much of me too soon. I am looking for a very quiet home please. All I’m asking for is a quiet retirement home, where I can lounge around and do my own thing without being interrupted unnecessarily, but where I will have some humans to keep me company and give me lots of love. I wouldn’t like to live with young children and would prefer an adult only home. I could live with older teenagers 16+ as long as they are sensible and give me space and time. I would like a home that is not too busy, so maybe a maximum of 3 or 4 people, and any potential adopters will need to allow me to settle and get to know me and my personality. I’m sure in no time I will be snoozing on your lap and shouting at you for attention or food! I just need a bit of time to get used to you before I can trust you and feel safe.I definitely do not want to live with any other cats or dogs! Gosh, I’ve seen enough cats here to last me a lifetime! They’re everywhere! I know I’m probably the oldest one here at the moment, so I probably won’t be picked quickly, but I do hope someone chooses me to be part of their family soon. I think I would be much happier in my own home with lots of space and not having to share anything, including the attention of the humans!I am used to having access to my own garden and being able to go out there for a quiet wander around and sunbathe, so would like this in my new home too please. My previous owner has said that I didn’t venture far and tended to stay mainly in the garden, so I would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys lounging around in the garden, and I can happily join you for a lap cuddle!

About Fifi

What life with Fifi looks like

Fifi is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Wythall Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fifi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fifi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wythall Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fifi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fifi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wythall Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fifi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fifi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wythall Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fifi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
