Fila

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed-breed Fila is waiting for her ticket to happiness. Fila was found together with her seven siblings in front of a hotel and has been living ever since at our partner animal shelter in Bulgaria. In August, she’d like to exchange this place for her forever home or a loving foster placement. Fila is a sweet, open, and curious little dog. She loves playing with her fellow dogs and shows great social skills when interacting with other dogs. She approaches people in a friendly and outgoing manner and thoroughly enjoys every cuddle and stroke. We’re looking for people who will lovingly accompany Fila as she grows up. She still has so much to learn—potty training, being left alone, riding in the car, and all the many everyday stimuli are new to her. With patience, calmness, structure, and empathy, she’ll gradually learn what makes for a happy dog life. Fila wants to grow alongside her humans, build trust, receive age-appropriate stimulation, and enjoy lots of cozy cuddle moments. A puppy brings not only joy but also responsibility. Anyone who understands what it means to accompany a puppy on its journey through life and is ready to invest time, love, and patience will find in Fila a loyal companion for life. Who’s ready to give Fila the chance to leap into a better life? Here are Fila’s videos: Video 1 Video 2

About Fila

What life with Fila looks like

Fila is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
