Adopt Fili

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Fili was rescued from inside a ditch. He is a good and very playful dog, suitable with females. He shares a cage with Fresa. He is not at all dominant even with food. After a walk in the mountains, a volunteer said..... Last Sunday I took Fili on an excursion to the mountain, attached some photos and a short video of him walking along with my dog. In the car he behaved very well, he sat on my feet and was very calm. On the trail he also behaved great, it's true that although he is not a very big dog he is quite strong, but generally walks well, normally he doesn't pull the leash unless he sees another dog since he shows a lot of interest in them (not for bad, he just wants to meet them all; in this sense I would say he is a bit stubborn, hehe). He crossed with both males and females, small and large and didn't make a bad gesture with any of them (also, he lives with a male in his cage and has also shared with females, so it can be said that he is a sociable dog). Let's see if this small contribution/update helps move Filip a bit, I think he is a very good dog and has some nice eyes...

Fili fue rescatado de dentro de una acequia. Es un perro bueno y muy jugueton, apto con hembras. Comparte jaula con Fresa. No es nada dominante ni siquiera con la comida. Fili was rescued from inside a ditch. He is a good and very playful dog, suitable with females. He shares a cage with Fresa. He is not at all dominant even with food Tras un paseo por la montaña una voluntaria dijó.....

About Fili

What life with Fili looks like

Fili is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Oriolana in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Oriolana handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Oriolana will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Oriolana early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
