We took in Tomcat Filipa from his owners, who no longer wanted him due to his health. Unfortunately, Filip is epileptic and must take pills twice a day. The tomcat is very beautiful and once he gets used to the change, he is also very affectionate. In a new home, he can be alone. Due to epilepsy, he can only be in an apartment. April 11, 2018 – Filip moved into the house with other cats after the mandatory quarantine. He is kind and likes to show affection. Unfortunately, he is also submissive and is very afraid of other cats. In a new home, he will prefer to be without other animals. In December 2019, Filip found a new home. Unfortunately, the new owner could not reconcile work with regular medication and had to return Filipa after a month. The first few days, the tomcat was quite upset and the change of environment from a cat-free household to our cat household did not suit him at all. So we hope he will get used to it soon and everything will be fine. February 24, 2020 – Filip is already fine and everything is okay. He shows affection and even started eating with others. Which he never did before. Jojo, love goes through the stomach. August 4, 2021 – Filip has recently had problems with his teeth and so today he underwent tooth extraction and removal of growths in the caudal arches and gums. Blood was taken and the growths sent for histology. We hope everything will be okay. Blood test for Filip August 3, 2021 Detailed blood examination for Filip August 3, 2021 August 19, 2021 – Filípka probably has wounds from the extracted teeth. His right face and eye are swollen. The tomcat does not want to eat or drink and spends most of the day in the bed and sleeps. Blood tests and check-up at the vet showed nothing, so it is probably some hidden abscess in the face. Fíla was given antibiotics for 14 days, an eye ointment, and now we hope the antibiotics will take effect and the tomcat will be okay again. August 20, 2021 – Third eyelid significantly swollen, the eye is not visible. The vet examined Fílu and added antibiotics. Hopefully, it will be okay. Blood test for Filip August 19, 2021 Medical report for Filip August 20, 2021 August 22, 2021 – Swelling of the face has subsided, but the third eyelid is over the entire eye and significantly swollen. Filip is already drinking. August 26, 2021 – The third eyelid is back to normal and the eye is visible and undamaged. Fíla still has a swollen conjunctiva, but hopefully, it will be okay soon. October 14, 2021 Histology for Filip March 20, 2023 – Fíla is still fine and we hope he will stay here for a long time. He is kind, affectionate and loves being held. He enjoys it fully. February 19, 2024 – Filip underwent a control blood test and all values were within normal range. We are happy that even at his age, he is still fine. April 22, 2025 – Fíla is holding up well and is still fine. Although we are currently experiencing a shortage of epilepsy medication, fortunately, substitute tablets are available for the tomcat, so he is taken care of. Otherwise, he is fine and is enjoying the spring days safely by the window. April 12, 2026 – Fíla has started losing weight, so he underwent a control blood test. It turned out he has a problem with his thyroid, so he was added Euthyrox to his epilepsy medication. Hopefully, he will be okay and stay with us for a few more years.
