Adopt Filip

Male · Adult · 7 years

No one has ever loved FILIPA. For over two years, she has been a resident of the Bukowskie Animal Shelter, and despite the advertisements, no one has decided to adopt her yet. She is about five years old, a beautiful, energetic spaniel always eager for a walk. She would be an irreplaceable companion for hiking trips, and would not mind running either. Her favorite activity during walks is digging holes and sniffing around. Or rolling in muddy puddles and staying in them for a few minutes. Filipa loves "her" people with her whole dog's heart and can beautifully show it by jumping on knees, or running up and demanding petting. She perfectly knows when a caregiver or "her" volunteer has come to the animal shelter and as soon as she sees them, she jumps high and joyfully waits for a walk. She is also the type who knows what she wants; she certainly isn't a dog that someone unfamiliar might impose something on. Filip needs time to get to know new people. We don't know what happened to her in life, what previous caretakers she had. We would not recommend her to a home with small children, or with cats. But for active people, she is definitely suitable. Filip runs on the run with other dogs, likes their company, and plays joyfully with some of her canine friends. It's a shame that time is passing away in the shelter's kennel run... We very much want her fate to change and find a person who will see in her a wonderful, faithful dog friend in the future. The advertisement aims to find a home for this little animal. We reserve the right to choose appropriate caretakers. The little animal will be handed over to new caretakers after signing the adoption contract.

Nie polecilibyśmy go do domu z małymi dziećmi, ani z kotami.

About Filip

What life with Filip looks like

Filip is a adult dog waiting at Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań in Poznań.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Filip, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Filip?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Filip on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Filip if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Filip already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Filip isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań early rather than rehoming privately; they know Filip and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
