Finn

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 3 years

Finn – searching for his happiness Finn is a young dog about 3 years old who was abandoned on a busy road in Bulgaria. Our animal protection colleagues were able to secure him in time and bring him to safety. Now Finn is ready to arrive and finally find his forever home. Finn is extremely social and meets people calmly, kindly, and simply lovable. He loves every cuddle, never misses an opportunity for snuggling, and always seeks the company of his humans. He greatly enjoys attention and shows himself to be loving and balanced. Finn also gets along very well with other dogs and shows excellent social behavior. Whether Finn already knows life in a household, we cannot say. Therefore, we are looking for a home where he will be received patiently and allowed to arrive at his own pace. Step by step, he should get to know everything new and build up trust. For Finn, we are looking for people who are ready to teach a young dog everything that is important for harmonious coexistence: housebreaking, leash training, being alone, and basic obedience. With loving consistency, structure, and patience, Finn will definitely learn all of this quickly. Anyone who enjoys discovering the world together with him, providing appropriate exercise, and not forgetting long cuddling sessions will find a loyal companion for life in Finn. A garden for playing and running around would be a wonderful bonus. Who will fall in love with this handsome dog and give him the chance for a better life? Adopting an animal shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you have a serious interest in adopting Finn, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home.

About Finn

What life with Finn looks like

Finn is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Finn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Finn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Finn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Finn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Finn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Finn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Finn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
