Fiona (w)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Fiona seeks her fortune The little Fiona is just about 3 years old, approximately 35 cm tall and is waiting in the municipal animal shelter of Botoșani (Romania) for her chance – a chance she so greatly deserves. We do not know how she ended up there. Presumably, like so many other dogs, she was collected by the dog catchers and brought to the completely overcrowded animal shelter. There, over 800 dogs live, cared for by only a few tireless volunteers. There is hardly any time for each individual dog. Despite everything, Fiona has not lost her kindness. She is a very sweet, gentle girl who is initially a bit cautious – and who could blame her? With her cute pointed ears, she observes every movement attentively. Like a small radar, she looks around, always hoping that perhaps someone will come to her kennel and give her a few minutes of attention. Of course, we could only get to know Fiona to a limited extent, because under the conditions on site, a detailed assessment is hardly possible. But everything we saw of her speaks for a friendly, sweet female dog who will quickly gain trust with some patience and understanding. The helpers on site sincerely wish that Fiona can finally leave this bleak life behind bars. She should no longer have to wait day after day for someone to stop. She should experience how a soft bed feels, how loving hands caress and how beautiful a home of her own can be. Fiona is spayed, multiple vaccinated, dewormed, chipped and of course in possession of an EU passport. Before departure, we will still carry out a Snap-4D test. Contact: Fiona will be mediated through the animal rescue organization Casa Katharina e.V. – with pre-control and protection contract. The association naturally has the permission according to §11 Animal Welfare Act. Even after the adoption, we will continue to support you – for humans and animals. Fiona will travel to Germany as soon as she is adopted and will arrive in 91278 Pottenstein, where she must be picked up by her family. There is a secure area available. Before you contact us. Is the whole family informed and in agreement with your inquiry? Do you have the consent of your landlord to keep a dog? Is the dog already living with you in agreement? Are you prepared to pick up your new family member in Pottenstein? Then we look forward to your inquiry.

About Fiona (w)

What life with Fiona (w) looks like

Fiona (w) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fiona (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fiona (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fiona (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fiona (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fiona (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fiona (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fiona (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
