Fistaszek

Mixed Breed · Male

Fistaszek is a young and very energetic dog. An actual volcano of energy. When seen on a leash at the animal shelter, it’s quite the first-time experience. When he comes out of his kennel, he wants to do everything at once: walk, stand, sniff, pet, and check out what the other dogs are doing while also moving away from them. We and the future caregiver are in for some work with the walking aspect. However, when Fistaszek is further away from the animal shelter, he can quiet down and enjoy scent games and searching for treats in the grass. He’s also eager to learn new skills, like sit 😊 So far, he gets it right about 1/5 of the time, but the first cats are out of the way. We are still investigating the relationships with other dogs in direct contact. Fistaszek has been at the animal shelter for a short time, so it’s hard to say more about him now. We will get to know each other, but we are very hopeful that Fistaszek will soon be leaving for a permanent home. We do know, however, that for Fistaszka, a human and his presence are crucial in life. It would be great if he could have his own human and some hands to pet.

PL·Show original

Fistaszek to młodziutki i bardzo energiczny pies. Istny wulkan energii. Dobrze by zatem było, żeby miał swojego prywatnego człowieka i ręce do głaskania.

About Fistaszek

What life with Fistaszek looks like

Fistaszek is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fistaszek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fistaszek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fistaszek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fistaszek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fistaszek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fistaszek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fistaszek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
