Fistik

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Meet Fistik – a unique dog born in January 2021, weighing around 15 kg and having a huge heart for people he trusts. Fistik is very attached to his caregiver. He always wants to be close, follows you everywhere and never loses sight of you. He is extremely caring and devoted to his family. One of his favorite games is... hide-and-seek! He can lie down in the grass, convinced he has become invisible, and when you approach closer – jumps out with joy, inviting you to play. This is a very intelligent dog who learns quickly and enjoys working with humans. As a puppy, he was found along with his siblings in the forest. Despite the difficult start, he trusted humans and formed strong bonds with people he got to know well. In first contact, he can be uncertain around strangers and new dogs. He needs time to get used to and feel safe. Once he accepts his surroundings, he becomes a loyal companion who cares for his "pack" and watches over their safety. Fistik: • strongly attaches to his family, • is vigilant and observes the environment carefully, • has developed guarding and protection instincts towards loved ones, • values calm and consistent leadership. Health status: • neutered, dewormed, • vaccinated, • microchipped, • protected against fleas and ticks.

W pierwszym kontakcie bywa niepewny wobec obcych ludzi i nowych psów. Zainteresowany? Wypełnij ankietę przedadopcyjną:

About Fistik

What life with Fistik looks like

Fistik is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fistik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fistik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fistik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fistik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fistik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fistik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fistik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
