adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! Fitos' mama gave birth to him and his brothers in the yard of an elderly lady, but due to her age, she couldn’t care for them. The mama has been spayed to prevent further pregnancies. He currently lives with his brothers in a boys’ shared home. Alongside Fito, this household includes Cheewy, Subwoofer, and Lonny. Fito is expected to reach a medium size. Fito has silky dark fur with lighter accents on his legs, chest, and head. Additionally, this little rascal has a shortened tail. Fito is friendly and curious, hopping straight into your arms to get cuddles. True to his age, he’s very playful and loves romping around with his brothers. We suspect Fito is a Terrier mix, likely with some German Shepherd heritage. His appearance and behavior suggest a lively, attentive, and eager-to-learn blend. Terriers are often known for their curiosity and playfulness, while German Shepherds are famed for their intelligence and strong bonding ability. Accordingly, this puppy could grow into an active companion who needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Consistent, loving guidance will be essential to help him reach his full potential. We hope to find Fito patient and empathetic people who will support this young dog with affectionate consistency as he grows into a wonderful companion. Attending positively-oriented dog training classes would definitely be enriching for both dog and human and is therefore highly recommended. He’s still at the very beginning of his young life and has yet to learn the basics of doggy manners. And if someone could offer Fito a foster home, that would be a fantastic stepping stone for this little guy. The first year of life is especially formative—the more Fito can learn now, the better. Have you fallen for this cheerful little fellow? Then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Following a positive meeting, he’ll naturally come with his EU pet passport. Thanks to Manon B. for this sweet name. Thanks to you, Fito’s future people will surely notice him soon. As of: 05.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.05.2026

About Fito

What life with Fito looks like

Fito is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
