By the way - Fiyi, a big Schmuser who needs clear boundaries. Fiyi has been in Germany since March with a foster family and has now settled in very well. He is smart and has already learned some basic commands, but Fiyi remains a dog who questions everything and does not simply obey silently what is asked of him. He is very independent, yet he wants to please his people and tries to do so or makes suggestions. He is a great dog to work out a shared life with. However, this requires a lot of time, love, patience, consistency, and commitment. Important for him is that he does not memorize behavior (and actually only does his own thing), but that basics are built up together. Fiyi is not a dog that just follows along and can participate everywhere in daily life. Due to his protective instinct, he is very alert, attentive, and always has the "forward gear" engaged - even at the smallest noises. A visit to the city, for example, is therefore very exhausting for him. In addition, he shows a strong hunting instinct towards smaller animals (cats, chickens, etc.). However, he watches the property very well. A large fenced garden would be great for him. Once Fiyi has trust in his people, no muzzle will be needed anymore outside. However, it is still important that all people in a household work equally with him and, even more importantly, learn to understand him. Otherwise, he will gladly take advantage. His actions are strongly socially motivated - both regarding the pack (he lives with three female dog) and his people. Therefore, Fiyi should not be kept as a single dog. He needs the community. Furthermore, he loves cuddling. He needs and wishes for many pats. He currently also shows nice playful behavior with a dog of similar age, he likes to fetch and is also open to activities like agility - within his motor abilities. These have already improved significantly, but they should continue to be trained. Fiyi is initially skeptical about new things, but he loves treats and can be easily convinced to try something unfamiliar. Fiyi is really a fantastic dog who would protect his people with his life. Fiyi – Großer Schmuser, der klare Grenzen braucht. Fiyi ist nun seit März in Deutschland auf einer Pflegestelle und hat sich mittlerweile sehr gut eingelebt. Er ist schlau und hat nun schon einige Grundkommandos gelernt, aber Fiyi ist und bleibt ein Hund, der viel hinterfragt und nicht in stillem Gehorsam alles tut, was von ihm verlangt wird. Er ist sehr eigenständig, trotzdem möchte er seinen Menschen gefallen und versucht dies auch bzw. macht Vorschläge. Er ist ein toller Hund, um sich ein gemeinsames Miteinander zu erarbeiten. Das braucht jedoch viel Zeit, Liebe, Geduld, Konsequenz und Verbindlichkeit. Wichtig bei ihm ist dabei, dass er Verhalten nicht auswendig lernt (und halt eigentlich doch nur weiter „sein Ding“ macht), sondern wirklich Basics gemeinsam aufgebaut werden. Fiyi ist kein Hund, der einfach „mitläuft“ und im Alltag überall teilnehmen kann. Auf Grund seines Schutzinstinkts ist er sehr wachsam, aufmerksam und hat dann immer den „Vorwärtsgang“ eingelegt – bereits bei kleinsten Geräuschen. Ein Stadtbesuch beispielsweise ist deshalb sehr anstrengend für ihn. Außerdem zeigt er starken Jagdinstinkt, bei kleineren Tieren (Katzen, Hühner, etc.). Er passt jedoch sehr gut auf das Grundstück auf. Ein eingezäunter großer Garten wäre toll für ihn. Hat Fiyi Vertrauen zu seinen Menschen gefasst, wird draußen auch kein Maulkorb mehr benötigt. Wichtig ist jedoch weiterhin, dass Menschen in einem Haushalt alle gleichermaßen mit ihm arbeiten und noch wichtiger, ihn auch verstehen lernen. Andernfalls nutzt er das gerne aus. Sein Handeln ist stark sozialmotiviert – sowohl bezogen auf das Rudel (er lebt mit drei Hündinnen zusammen) als auch seine Menschen. Somit sollte Fiyi nicht als Einzelhund gehalten werden. Er braucht die Gemeinschaft. Außerdem liebt er es zu kuscheln. Er braucht und wünscht sich viele Streicheleinheiten. Er zeigt mittlerweile mit einer gleichaltrigen Hündin auch schönes spielerisches Verhalten, er apportiert gerne und ist auch offen für Beschäftigung wie Agility – im Rahmen seiner motorischen Fähigkeiten. Diese haben sich schon deutlich verbessert, aber es sollte noch weiter trainiert werden. Fiyi ist erstmal skeptisch bei Neuem, aber er liebt Leckerchen und lässt sich so sehr gut überreden, sich auf Unbekanntes einzulassen. Fiyi ist wirklich ein fantastischer Hund, der seine Menschen mit seinem Leben beschützen würde. Man kann sich nur glücklich schätzen, solch einen loyalen Kuschelbären in seinem Leben zu haben.
