adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Fjello has found his home! His story: This awesome male dog was hoping to experience his little miracle at Christmas and find his own family… but unfortunately, that didn't work out. Emergency-style, he's now traveling to a foster home in Northern Germany, but he really doesn't find that too exciting. The little guy is about 1–2 years old, just under 35 cm tall and 6–7 kg in weight. He has a great, athletic build, but is still a small dog who can keep up everywhere. At the animal shelter, he shows himself to be very social and open. On his foster home, he will be integrated into a pack and live with all the other animals. Overall, Fjello is an absolute dream dog and is very excited to meet you in Westoverledingen. Please contact us if you'd like to meet him. We assume that Fjello already knows what life in a family is like, but unfortunately, we don't know for sure. Therefore, it can be assumed that things like house training, being alone, or leash walking might still be new to him. At the beginning, he will certainly need some time, love, and patience to fully settle into his new family. At the beginning, a visit to a positively working dog training class would certainly not be a bad idea to give the little guy, as well as his people, a good foundation for a successful coexistence. Fjello travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive match. Who has fallen in love with the cute puppy and wants to give him a loving home? Many thanks to Nici! You named Fjello! Date: 10.01.

Vielen Dank an Nici! Du hast Fjello seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 10.01.2025

About Fjello

What life with Fjello looks like

Fjello is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fjello, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fjello?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fjello on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fjello if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fjello already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fjello isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fjello and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
