Flecos

Male · Adult · 5 years

I was born around May 2021 in Spain. My start in life wasn’t entirely easy, as I had to fend for myself on the streets. Luckily, some kind-hearted animal rescuers discovered me in a cat colony and took me in. Since then, I’ve been learning every day that the world can also have beautiful sides. Sometimes, people still scare me a bit. I’m a rather shy tomcat and need some time to build trust. But with the lovely animal rescuers who care for me, I’m gradually becoming braver and more confident. With patience, understanding, and a safe home, I’m sure I’ll be able to take many more steps forward. Although I’m cautious, I also have a playful side: I’m quite talkative and often make my caregivers laugh with my little clownish antics. Besides, I’m a really sweet guy and get along wonderfully with other cats. That’s why I’d love to find a feline friend—a cat companion—in my new home. Of course, it would be even better if I could bring one of my friends along with me. I’m perfectly prepared for my journey to happiness: I’ve been neutered, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and will be vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped before I leave. All that’s left now is one thing: a home where I can finally feel truly at home. Maybe yours?

About Flecos

What life with Flecos looks like

Flecos is a adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flecos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flecos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flecos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flecos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flecos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flecos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flecos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
