Adopt Flecos

Male · Adult · 5 years

Flecos was born around May 2021 in Spain and had to survive on the streets. Our Spanish partners found him in a colony and thankfully took him in. Now, this sweet tomcat is looking for a new home where he can finally settle down. He is still shy and finds people a bit scary. However, he is gaining more confidence in the safety of our Spanish partner's care. A secure home with patience and understanding would make this journey easier for him. He is very talkative and a little clown, always bringing a smile to his caregivers' faces. Additionally, he is very affectionate and gets along great with other cats. Therefore, he should have feline company in his new home. He could also bring one of his friends along. The tomcat is neutered and has tested negative for FiV and FelV. He will also be vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped upon entry. Would you like to give Flecos a new home and provide him with a happy cat life?

About Flecos

What life with Flecos looks like

Flecos is a small adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flecos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flecos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flecos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flecos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flecos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flecos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flecos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
