Adopt Fleki

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Fleki – a young cutie with a heart-warming wish: finally arriving at home: Fleki, born on 10.02.2025, is a beautiful mixed-breed male dog from Bosnia with long, black-and-white fur and a very special feature: his two-colored eyes. With a shoulder height of about 55 cm and a weight of roughly 20 kg, he has already been neutered and now waits for the home that will finally show him how wonderful dog life can be. Fleki came into the private animal shelter as a puppy. We unfortunately cannot say much about his background, as we simply do not know what he experienced before. But what we can definitely say: Fleki exudes nothing but joy for living. This young dog is full of energy and enthusiasm for everything new that awaits him. Towards humans, he is open and cuddly, loving the company of his two-legged friends. His age-appropriate energy and zest for movement would make long walks, thorough exploration tours, and active people who can offer him physical and mental stimulation a dream come true. A clear recommendation would be to attend dog training classes to work together on leash skills and guide him affectionately into his new life. Fleki gets along well with fellow animals; multi-dog housing is possible. Cats and children have yet to be tested, but cats can be tested upon request. If children live in the new home, we recommend a minimum age of 12 years to keep things calm for everyone. Similarly, we cannot make any definite statements about house-soiling or being left alone, as Fleki will have to learn and practice these things in his new environment. All Fleki wishes for is people who will take him in with love and consistency. A home in the countryside or at the outskirts, preferably with a securely fenced garden, would be perfect for him. Active people who enjoy a young, eager-to-learn dog and are patient in guiding him into his new life are exactly what Fleki is looking for.

About Fleki

What life with Fleki looks like

Fleki is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfairliebt e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fleki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fleki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfairliebt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fleki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fleki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfairliebt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fleki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fleki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfairliebt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fleki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
