Flicker

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Flicker, female, born 01.05.2026, EKH, spayed, yes/no, in shelter since 25.07.2026 We test every cat with a rapid test for FIV ("cat aids", info here!) and FeLV ("cat leukemia", info here!) and clarify the status. We inform here about the risk of FIP disease ("peritonitis", info here!). Flicker was given up to us because cat keeping was not allowed. She is a friendly, lively and lively little cat lady who brings a bit of spice and age-appropriately curious through life. She likes to be stroked, goes boldly on exploration tours and is of course very playful. She is well suited as a family kitten. Flicker urgently needs a home with a tolerant and social partner, because she has a few deficits in socialization that should be ironed out as quickly as possible. In interaction with other kittens of the same age, she is quite rough and uninhibited, which overwhelms them, so we wish her a steadfast partner, ideally a young tomcat, from six months upwards, who likes to romp, does not take small fights so seriously and lets her have some education. Cats are, in general, very social animals that attach great importance to contact with their fellow human beings. We do not want to undo this with the young cats and therefore do not mediate them in single keeping. She can move into pure apartment keeping (ideally with a balcony or similar secured outdoor area) or, after neutering and from the age of eight months, be accustomed to outdoor access in cat-friendly surroundings. Interested parties for kittens should be aware that the sweet little ones will inevitably become adult cats that have a hopefully long life of 15 to 20 years ahead of them. The decision for kittens should therefore always be made in the long term and not because of the undeniable cuteness factor. → Detailed information (as of 18.08.2026) (Click on the pictures to see them in full size!) The description reflects the current status, but we reserve the right to make changes or reassessments. It can always happen that an animal shows itself differently or develops differently here in the animal shelter as well as in the new home due to changed circumstances. weiblich Abgabetier/Wohungshaltung oder Freigang Geboren 01.05.2026 EKH Kastriert [] ja / nein Im Tierheim seit 25.07.2026 ________________________ Wir testen jede Katze per Schnelltest auf FIV („Katzen-Aids“, Infos hier!) und FeLV („Katzen-Leukose“, Infos hier!) und klären über den Status auf. About Flicker

What life with Flicker looks like

Flicker is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flicker, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flicker?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flicker on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flicker if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flicker already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flicker isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flicker and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
