I am Flip, 9 years old, and in the prime of my life. First off, I just want to say that I really hate all veterinarians in the world and that I will never let myself be examined. I also won't be forced, come on, I am a independent cat. The caretakers say that the vet declared me healthy, but I can't remember anything. There was one day when I suddenly felt very sleepy and an hour later I woke up, wonder what they did to me... Anyway, they say that for now I don't have to go to the vet anymore as long as I stay healthy. You can bet I will stay healthy! I run, fly, and jump like the best. I am as fit as a fiddle. I play with balls: small but also large tennis balls. Cool, right. The fishing rod is my favorite, especially when the boss hides it half under the newspaper. I like to sit on high places and enjoy doing what I want. When I want to be on the boss's lap, I decide when that is. Don't force me, I am not happy about that. Have you noticed that when visitors come, they suddenly want to pet me? How rude! Stay away from me, I won't pet strangers either. I give a good whack, the only right reaction. Let me just enjoy my day the way I want. I look forward to running and climbing outside and then lounging on the couch at night. I am also very fond of eating and think that anything edible in the house is for me. That can still lead to a disagreement with the person I share the house with. On the TV, I heard Bassie say 'everything is for Bassie', I say 'everything is for Flip'!

Ik ben Flip, 9 jaar oud en in de bloei van mijn leven. Allereerst wil ik even zeggen dat ik echt een hekel heb aan alle dierenartsen op de wereld en dat ik me sowieso nooit laat onderzoeken. Ik laat me ook niet dwingen, kom op ik ben een zelfstandige kat. De verzorgers zeggen dat de dierenarts mij gezond heeft verklaard, kan ik me niets van herinneren. Er was wel een dag dat ik me opeens erg slaperig voelde worden en een uur later wakker werd, vraag me af wat ze toen met me hebben gedaan... In ieder geval zeggen ze dat ik nu voorlopig niet meer naar de dierenarts hoef, als ik maar gezond blijf. Nou reken maar dat ik gezond blijf! Ik ren, vlieg en spring als de beste. Ben zo fit als een hoentje. Ik speel met balletjes: kleine maar ook grote tennisballen. Leuk joh. Ook de hengel is favoriet, zeker als de baas die half verstopt onder de krant. Ik zit graag op hoge plekken en hou er van om te doen wat ik wil. Als ik bij de baas op schoot wil, bepaal ik zelf wanneer dat is. Ga me ook niet dwingen, daar word ik niet gelukkig van. Ken je dat? Dat er bezoek komt, die me opeens wil aaien. Hoe onbeleefd! Blijf van me af zeg, ik ga onbekenden toch ook niet aaien. Ik geef dan gewoon een flinke tik hoor, de enige juiste reactie. Laat mij maar gewoon lekker zelf bepalen hoe m'n dag eruit ziet. Ik kijk ernaar uit om buiten te rennen en te klauteren om dan ’s avonds op de bank te luieren. Verder ben ik dol op eten en vind ik dat alles wat eetbaar is in huis voor mij is. Dat kan nog wel eens een meningsverschil geven met de persoon waarmee ik het huis deel. Op de tv heb ik Bassie horen zeggen ‘alles is voor bassie’, ik zeg ‘alles is voor Flip’!
