Flitzi

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Actually, Flitzi and Loukoumi had already found their home. Unfortunately, due to Loukoumi’s illness, the two had to be returned to the animal shelter once again. Now they’re searching for a home all over again—this time, one that will be theirs forever. When visitors arrive, Flitzi is immediately there to greet them. He welcomes everyone warmly and enjoys petting from the very first moment. Loukoumi, on the other hand, needs a little time at first. She carefully observes the situation, takes everything in, and assesses the environment thoroughly. But it never takes long before she, too, starts to trust and relishes the closeness of her people. The two share a truly special friendship. Loukoumi looks up to Flitzi so much—he provides her with security and helps her to be brave. That’s why we sincerely hope that the two can move into their new home together.

DE·Show original

About Flitzi

What life with Flitzi looks like

Flitzi is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Kreistierheim Böblingen in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flitzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flitzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kreistierheim Böblingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flitzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flitzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kreistierheim Böblingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flitzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flitzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kreistierheim Böblingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flitzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
