adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Flo has found a grace period! His story: Flo, we promise to find a lovely home with kind people for you too! Flo is one of many dogs that come to the public shelter in Baia Mare without any history. Flo is estimated to be around 10 years old and has thus already passed its wild years. With a shoulder height of about 57 cm, he belongs to the medium-sized dogs. Flo is quite stressed at the shelter. It's always loud, and he can't find any peace anywhere. Flo shows friendliness, openness, and cuddliness towards humans. He enjoys receiving attention. He is a very pleasant dog who also wears a harness well and walks nicely on a leash. Flo gets along well with female dogs. We have no experience with cat handling and could not test it. Flo's biggest weakness is treats; for these, he would almost do a somersault. With a bit of patience and a large portion of treats, Flo would surely settle into his new home quickly. Unfortunately, he currently has a limp, which we are having checked by a doctor. But one thing is certain: the older gentleman shouldn't have to spend the cold winter in the cold shelter on the cold floor, as this surely wouldn't be good for his bones, so it's very important that he finds a home quickly. We are looking for a quiet home for Flo without much commotion. We are looking for Flo for patient and understanding people who will accompany him into his new life. Flo is still unfamiliar with life in a home. We are looking for loving people who won't push him and will give him all the time he needs to adjust to his new life. The handsome Flo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has his EU pet passport and can be fostered. Flo would also be happy in a foster home. Many thanks to dear Marvin L. for giving Flo his name and the chance at a family! Heartfelt thanks to Sandra O.! You support Flo with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 04.11.

Lieben Dank Sandra O.! Du unterstützt Flo mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 04.11.2024

About Flo

What life with Flo looks like

Flo is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
