Adopt FLORA

Female

FLORA and Herkules are two Himalayan goats who are looking for a loving new home together. FLORA was born on April 1, 2021, and came to us because a bonding in their previous home did not work out. Later, Herkules arrived as a found animal, and the two hit it off immediately. Since then, they have formed a harmonious and well-adjusted team and will therefore only be rehomed together. FLORA is very voracious and curious. She can be a bit of a diva, but she has become quite sweet with us, actively seeking attention and enjoying contact with her trusted people. Herkules is outgoing, also very voracious and curious, but very calm and deeply relaxed. He is hard to ruffle and brings a lot of balance to the duo. Both are suitable for indoor or structured outdoor housing. A cage that is appropriate for their species with a minimum of 6 square meters is required. Her schnuffle has improved significantly with once-a-week inhalation. Herkules has several scars as well as scarred ears, as he was kept with three other male goats in the past, which led to conflicts.

About FLORA

What life with FLORA looks like

FLORA is a adult animal waiting at Tierheim München in Munich.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows FLORA far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting FLORA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FLORA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FLORA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FLORA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FLORA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FLORA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim München early rather than rehoming privately; they know FLORA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
