Malinois-Mix Florentine—strong character seeks people with sense Florentine is a five-month-old Malinois-mix female dog who recently moved to a foster home in Germany. There, this sweet girl reveals herself as an active, confident, and fearless dog who definitely wants to work. She learns incredibly quickly and is always ready to explore and acquire new skills together with her humans. Florentine can be enthusiastically motivated by nearly any kind of activity. In everyday life, however, she asks her humans many questions—and she doesn’t always agree with their answers. Thus, tolerating frustration is currently not one of her strengths. Towards people, she is exceptionally friendly, open, and approachable. At her foster home, she lives in a mixed dog group and regularly accompanies her primary caregivers to their dog daycare center, where she’s learning, among other things, how to interact appropriately with her peers. Due to her age, she gets along well with all dogs. At the same time, it’s already clear that Florentine knows exactly what she wants—and what she doesn’t want. She rarely takes “no” from other dogs seriously so far. In the dog group, she tends to try to regulate moods and interrupt dynamics. That’s why, from the very beginning, she’s learning that she’s not responsible for everything. With the right guidance, her foster family could easily imagine that Florentine might later be used—in a supportive role—to help work with dog groups. She now travels comfortably in the car, is house-trained, and reliably responds to her name. Typical of the Malinois breed, Florentine forms a very close bond with her primary caregivers. Therefore, leaving her alone should continue to be introduced gradually and with patience. For Florentine, we’re looking for people who recognize her potential and give her a meaningful task. She wants to work, use her mind, and grow together with her humans. She’s not the type of dog who just hangs around passively. Despite all the activities, though, it’s important not to forget that Florentine, despite her eagerness to act, is still a very young dog. Sufficient rest and sleep are essential for her to process what she’s learned and avoid becoming permanently overwhelmed or overly hyped up. She’s already getting better and better at settling down on her own, but occasionally still needs a little support. Overall, this sweet girl shows great potential to become an absolutely wonderful companion. All she needs now are people who’ll accompany her permanently on her journey. Malinois-Mischling Florentine – starker Charakter sucht Menschen mit Verstand Florentine ist eine fünf Monate alte Malinois-Mix-Hündin, die vor Kurzem auf eine Pflegestelle nach Deutschland umziehen durfte. Dort zeigt sich die Süße als aktive, selbstbewusste und furchtlose Hündin, die definitiv arbeiten möchte. Sie lernt unglaublich schnell und ist jederzeit bereit, gemeinsam mit ihren Menschen Neues zu entdecken und zu erlernen. Florentine lässt sich für nahezu jede Art der Beschäftigung begeistern. Im Alltag stellt sie ihren Menschen jedoch viele Fragen – und mit den Antworten ist sie nicht immer einverstanden. Frustration auszuhalten gehört daher aktuell noch nicht zu ihren Stärken. Menschen gegenüber ist sie ausgesprochen freundlich, offen und aufgeschlossen. Sie lebt auf ihrer Pflegestelle in einer gemischten Hundegruppe und begleitet ihre Bezugspersonen auch regelmäßig in deren Hundetagesstätte. Dort lernt sie unter anderem einen angemessenen Umgang mit Artgenossen. Altersbedingt ist sie mit allen Hunden verträglich. Gleichzeitig zeigt sich aber bereits, dass Florentine genau weiß, was sie möchte – und was nicht. Ein „Nein“ anderer Hunde nimmt sie bislang nur selten ernst. In der Hundegruppe neigt sie dazu, Stimmungen regulieren und Dynamiken unterbrechen zu wollen. Deshalb lernt sie dort von Anfang an, dass sie nicht für alles verantwortlich ist. Mit der richtigen Anleitung könnte sich ihre Pflegefamilie gut vorstellen, dass Florentine später etwa unterstützend in der Arbeit mit Hundegruppen eingesetzt werden könnte. Sie fährt inzwischen problemlos im Auto mit, ist stubenrein und reagiert zuverlässig auf ihren Namen. Malinois-typisch bindet sich Florentine sehr eng an ihre Bezugspersonen. Das Alleinbleiben sollte deshalb weiterhin kleinschrittig und mit Geduld aufgebaut werden. Für Florentine wünschen wir uns Menschen, die ihr Potenzial erkennen und ihr eine sinnvolle Aufgabe geben. Sie möchte arbeiten, ihren Kopf einsetzen und gemeinsam mit ihren Menschen wachsen. Sie ist kein Hund, der einfach nebenher läuft. Bei aller Beschäftigung sollte jedoch nicht vergessen werden, dass Florentine trotz ihres Tatendrangs noch ein sehr junger Hund ist. Ausreichend Ruhe und Schlaf sind für sie essentiell, um Gelerntes zu verarbeiten und nicht in eine dauerhafte Überforderung oder Überdrehtheit zu geraten. Das selbständige Zur-Ruhe-Kommen gelingt ihr bereits immer besser, benötigt aber gelegentlich noch etwas Unterstützung.
