Florrie

Female · Young · 3 years

Florrie Birthday: October 2023. Sex: Female Breed: Mixed. Size: Small - medium Summary Petite and perfect, Florrie is a short haired, small scale young lady. Full of mischief and with a noticeable twinkle in her eye Florrie would be perfect for an active family with lots of love to give. History Florrie was found on the streets and taken in by a kind resident. Unfortunately her own dogs rejected the newcomer and Florrie ended up being kept in a shed. The woman contacted the rescue and Florrie was safely taken to the sanctuary. Personality With boundless energy, Florrie is great with the other dogs at the sanctuary and will happily play all day long: racing around the enclosure or chasing a ball. She can be a tad assertive and knows her own mind but is noticeably calm around the cats. Walks are an opportunity to explore and Florrie delights in following scent trails and having a good sniff. Florrie is very affectionate and at the end of the day is content to snuggle down and watch TV, especially if she finds a willing lap to nestle into. Compatibility Florrie is compatible with other dogs, cats and children over the age of 10. Medical Florrie has been microchipped and is vaccinated against rabies. She will be screened for all mediterranean diseases before departing for her new life.

About Florrie

What life with Florrie looks like

Florrie is a small young adult dog waiting at Hounds of Love Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Florrie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Florrie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hounds of Love Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Florrie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Florrie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hounds of Love Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Florrie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Florrie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hounds of Love Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Florrie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
