Flower

Mixed Breed · Female

My name is Flower and I need my new home! Colour: Black & White History: Surrendered due to her owner having to go into care. Needs: Flower really doesn’t need much at all, a warm lap to lie on, regular, small amounts of food, an occasional chase of the laser light and lots and lots of love. Character: Flower is a gentle, very sweet soul, she is absolutely no bother at all. She is quite happy to snooze away in a favourite spot if you are busy but loves to come and have a stroke and cuddle on your lap. She absolutely loves to be groomed with a ZoomGroom and will get up and turn round so you can do the other side for her. She has a wonderful deep purr that is readily switched on when she is being stroked. She isn’t fussy about food and will eat everything (but is especially fond of a treat of fresh chicken, ham or tuna!) and is perfectly neat in the litter tray. She is however a little bit greedy and will wolf all her food down at speed which sometimes results in her being sick. This is very easily solved by only giving her a small amount at a time (half a regular sachet of food) and just a spoonful of biscuits in between. She is also quite vocal when she knows it’s breakfast / lunch / dinner / supper time and will remind you to feed her with a loud and indignant “rowr” that sounds more like a growl but is just too funny! Basically Flower is the perfect companion and just needs a quiet, loving home to spend her retirement, someone who is able to feed her as required and to love this gorgeous old lady as much as she deserves. About Flower

What life with Flower looks like

Flower is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Heronbank Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flower, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flower?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Heronbank Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flower on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flower if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Heronbank Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flower already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flower isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Heronbank Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flower and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
