Flower Pot

Yorkshire Terrier · Female · Young · 3 years

06-08-26 Flower Pot is a timid little lady who has come to us from a breeder. She is easy to handle but prefers the safety of her bed and will often shy away when approached. Once she begins to feel comfortable, she will quietly come over for a sniff, but she will need plenty of time, patience, and understanding in her new home to continue building her confidence. Flower Pot will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home that she can lean on as she settles in and learns that the world isn't such a scary place. As she has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to help her with house training, walking on a lead, and all the other basics of home life. She can live with older, dog-savvy children, aged 16+ that are sensible and will allow her time to settle in. Her adopters will need to have experience with ex-breeders and understand her needs. Flower Pot is a lovely, gentle girl who simply needs a kind and loving home where she can continue to build her confidence and learn to trust. With patient adopters who allow her to progress at her own pace, we are sure she will continue to blossom. Flower Pot has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Flower Pot

What life with Flower Pot looks like

Flower Pot is a young adult yorkshire terrier dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flower Pot, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flower Pot?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flower Pot on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flower Pot if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flower Pot already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flower Pot isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flower Pot and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
