adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Fly, a brave little polar bear who melts hearts, but whose life hasn't been easy. Together with his five siblings, he was abandoned and had to endure bitter cold and hunger. But that wasn't enough; the little ones fell ill with the treacherous parvovirus – a fight that three of his siblings sadly lost. But Fly has proven what a fighter there is in him and has survived. Despite the difficult start, our sweet Fly is a small success story. Always curious but also reserved and a bit shy, we got to know Fly. Recently, he was allowed to travel to a foster home in Germany, and the development of Fly is one to be envied. He now shows himself to be totally open, friendly, and simply charming. He loves children, cats, and other animals and would rather play and run around all day. Fly is full of life and energy, and if it weren't for his dense white fur, one might easily mistake him for a Flummi. As happy as he bounces around. Even in training, Fly makes impressive progress. He is already house-trained and has discovered his love for walks. He already runs super well on a leash and does everything very well. But of course, Fly will not move in as a "ready-made" dog with his family. He still needs to learn some points from the Dog ABC. And the best would be to learn these as soon as possible in his Forever Home. Because soon puberty will bring another big change for Fly. The hormones will be on a rollercoaster, and it will get a bit wobbly in the head. Just then, it would be our greatest wish that Fly has already found his people who will accompany him through this exciting time. Of course, a visit to a positively working dog training class would also be a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow as a team. Currently, Fly is only 20 cm tall and will likely remain small. At the moment, even the cats in the foster home are bigger than our little Fly. Fly travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport. Stand: 07.05. Have you fallen in love with our little Flummi and want him to hop into your life soon? Then contact us! Thank you, Alexandra, for giving the sweet Fly his name and opening the way to his personal happy ending.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Fly

What life with Fly looks like

Fly is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
