Adopt Fox

Border Collie · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Senior, 11 years old. Medium size, Border Collie. His story is heart-wrenching and he needs a home immediately! Imagine a dog who has had nothing in life, imagine that a family existed but it was as if he had been alone his entire life. A super active and cooperative breed that ends up doing nothing, a dog not even worthy of being looked at by those who should have seen the whole world in him. Because that's how he has always considered his family, despite everything. He has never given up and has never abandoned hope of finally being noticed by those he loved, even when he was surrendered by his owner without any remorse. He is very sweet, gets along with his peers (we don't know about cats) and is always looking for cuddles and attention, can you blame him? He doesn't show his age, he is dynamic and loves walks, on a leash he is really good. Amazing dogs that bond with their owners, he would love to have one who looks at him and considers him a family member, he deserves this opportunity, and it must be exceptional, like him. He is in Verona, but for a good adoption other nearby destinations are considered. For Fox it is possible to contact via WhatsApp message Desy 3404191200. A presentation is appreciated.

Anziano, 11 anni. Taglia media contenuta, Border Collie.

About Fox

What life with Fox looks like

Fox is a medium-sized senior border collie dog waiting at Animalisti Verona ODV in Verona.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animalisti Verona ODV handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animalisti Verona ODV will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animalisti Verona ODV early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
