adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Fox has found a home! His story: With Fox, an uncomplicated, adaptable, and affectionate fellow could finally move into his foster home. His foster parent immediately showered him with affection and trust. Even the first-time mother, who initially showed little enthusiasm for his arrival, greeted him calmly and kindly. Fox is active, enjoys walks, and gratefully accepts his new life. At home, he shows a quiet and content demeanor, and he loves cuddles very much. We wish him that he will soon find his forever home, for Fox has quickly formed bonds and has indeed waited long enough in his life: Under poor conditions, Fox had to spend a long time on a leash. For the first few years, he spent his life alone and unloved within a radius of 1.5 meters. He probably didn't know anything beyond that small circle. Although a hut was available, he didn't always receive enough food. It was only then that we managed to rescue Fox, but unfortunately, it took another 3 full years in a cage of our animal welfare workers until he was given his chance! Fox is friendly and open to other dogs. However, from the years on the leash, he retained a food aggression. Helpless, he was exposed to all sorts of attacks by other dogs and had no way to retreat or properly demarcate himself. We believe, however, that with patience, calmness, and training, this problem can be successfully addressed. Fox is simply fed separately in his foster home, and that works well. However, our handsome fellow is not a cat-friendly one. He would like to hunt them outside. At about 52 cm in height and 30 kg in weight, our beautiful fellow is a medium-sized dog. He has soft, medium-length, brown-white fur and a friendly look from his deep-brown eyes. At about 7 years old, he is in the best dog years. Unfortunately, he probably doesn't hear as well anymore. But perhaps there are loving people who will love him just as he is. His calm, friendly nature has certainly solidified, and he still has almost half his life ahead of him. Now, Fox is learning the behavior rules for a well-behaved house dog, and he is doing a good job. We are sure that Fox will quickly learn the whole dog 1×1 if he is shown boundaries with loving consistency and desired behavior is reinforced. We wish Fox loving adopters who will give him enough time to adjust and to settle into his new life situation. Cuddles and plenty of mental stimulation with him, as well as a cozy spot and sufficient contact with fellow animals will surely help him to fully integrate into his new family and develop into a reliable companion for all leisure activities. Perhaps a visit to a positively working dog training class would help to strengthen Fox's confidence and the bond to his people. Fox is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and is in possession of an EU pet passport. We thank and warmly thank Susanne K. for giving Fox his beautiful name and thus his own identity. As of: 04.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 04.01.2026

About Fox

What life with Fox looks like

Fox is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
