Fox

Samoyed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Fox is a nervous lady who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. Since arrival, Fox has really started to blossom and is showing us more of her lovely personality every day. She is a wonderfully smiley girl whose confidence continues to grow, and she will now happily approach people for a gentle chin scratch before settling nearby and relaxing in their company. Fox has now moved into a wonderful foster home, where she is getting to experience home life for the first time and is settling in well. Fox still takes a great deal of comfort from other dogs and relies on them for reassurance. During her time at the rescue, she has shared her kennel with several different dogs and has been an absolute angel with every one of them, regardless of their size or gender. She is a gentle and social girl who clearly finds confidence from having another dog by her side. Fox will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she continues to settle in and find her paws. A canine companion will be an important part of helping Fox feel safe and continue building her confidence. As Fox has never lived in a home before moving to foster, her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and house training, though she has been clean in the house so far in foster. She walks well on a harness and is making great progress. She will need patient adopters who are happy to take things at her pace and allow her confidence to build gradually. In the right home, Fox could share her space with dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in. Fox is a sensitive and gentle girl who is trying her best to be brave. She has already come such a long way, and with continued patience, support, and the companionship of another dog, she will continue to blossom into a happy and confident companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Fox

What life with Fox looks like

Fox is a adult samoyed dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
