Foxy

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Foxy - a happy companion who enjoys being outdoors Foxy has made great progress recently and is showing more and more what a great dog is in him. He is a sociable guy who is basically open and friendly to both people and other dogs. He is especially happy when he sees his leash and it goes outside. Walks are definitely among his favorite activities. His hunting instinct is not particularly pronounced. Foxy gets along well with other dogs and likes to play with them. At first meeting, he may bark or growl at individual males. Here you should give him some time and accompany encounters calmly and confidently. In the past, Foxy occasionally rattled his teeth in situations that were unpleasant to him, to signal that something did not please him. He has made great progress in this regard since his rescue. Nevertheless, his boundaries should be respected and his people should meet him with understanding and empathy. Whether Foxy also gets along with children is yet to be tested. Foxy has curly fur that does not or hardly shed. We are looking for people who enjoy walks together, give him security and lovingly accompany him through life. Who would like to give this special guy a chance?

DE·Show original

About Foxy

What life with Foxy looks like

Foxy is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundenothilfe-OWL e.V. in Bielefeld.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Foxy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Foxy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundenothilfe-OWL e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Foxy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Foxy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundenothilfe-OWL e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Foxy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Foxy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundenothilfe-OWL e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Foxy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
