adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Fraggles has found its own home! His story: The wonderful Fraggles has settled well in his foster home in Marburg and is catching up on his life at a fast pace 🙂 Everyone loves the friendly, blonde Fraggles, who is always in a good mood, playful, and witty, and shows himself to be extremely people-oriented and cuddly. Fraggles was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau, where they still euthanize animals. We know nothing about his past, only that he seems to have been treated poorly. His head is dented on the left side, likely by an iron rod. Fraggles is a real dream dog. From his appearance, it's obvious he's a Labrador mix. At 50 cm and 21 kg, he has a nice medium size. But his character also shows clear traits of a Labrador. Fraggles is an incredibly friendly and open dog. He learns quickly, but also likes to test his limits and may need some good guidance from his people. While he loves all kinds of food, he can still be trained well. Being alone works better, and he can manage up to 4 hours. However, it may need to be set up again in his new home. The good news is that he can also be taken everywhere, as he has already managed to handle restaurant visits, bus and train rides, and visits to friends in a short time. He walks well on a leash and is unimpressed by any environmental distractions. Sometimes he barks at other dogs, but if he is guided and relieved of responsibility, he can also pass by nicely. A prey drive is present but well manageable. We do not see any cats in Fraggles's new home. Other dogs are great for Fraggles, but he can be a bit boisterous in contact. He is looking forward to many adventures in nature, a cozy dog bed, and many cuddle hours, because he has a lot to catch up on. He would also be happy about a visit to dog training classes. With his approximately 4 years, Fraggles has his whole life ahead of him and can start anew and finally arrive. He is looking forward to your request. Fraggles is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has his EU pet passport in his luggage. Stand: 25.10.

Stand: 25.10.2024

About Fraggles

What life with Fraggles looks like

Fraggles is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fraggles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fraggles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fraggles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fraggles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fraggles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fraggles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fraggles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
