Frania

Mixed Breed · Female

Frania is a friendly cat who came to us from Sieprawie. At the end of September, she moved into the temporary home with three other cats. Frania is a sensitive and delicate black and white cat, rather small for her age. She is very calm by nature. At first, she was quite distrustful, but after a few days she began to gently nudge me with her head to be petted. She is not a lap cat, but when she feels like it, she will come to be petted, especially loving to have her chin rubbed. She doesn't like being held, but she happily settles somewhere at the feet to sleep or next to a pillow or in her favorite soft nest. If she doesn't like being petted at the moment, she either moves away or clearly communicates it by meowing loudly. With new people, she is shy and somewhat distant, but she doesn't hide or run away, just keeps a small distance, approaches and sniffs your fingers. She is neutral towards the other cats of different ages. It took her a few days to get used to her new companions. They often lie together on the bed. Her favorite activity is taking naps, watching the world from the balcony, and meal times, as she cleans her bowl better than a dishwasher! Here, you need to watch out for any food left that she could access because she even climbs into the sink. The little cat had some health problems, namely pancreatitis, which was accompanied by stomach pain, and she doesn't like being touched in those areas. Day by day, she is becoming more confident with people and her surroundings. We are looking for a quiet and understanding home for her, which will understand that she is a cat with her own comfort zone and will let you know when she wants affection. We are looking for a home for Frani that is not outgoing, loving, and safe, with a secured balcony (if there is one) and/or windows, which will surround her with the best care. ATTENTION!

UWAGA! About Frania

What life with Frania looks like

Frania is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frania, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frania?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frania on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frania if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frania already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frania isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frania and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
