Frank

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 2 years

Having been brought into our care as a stray, Frank was understandably nervous and unsure of his new surroundings at first. With patience, kindness, and a gentle approach from his carers, he has gradually learned to trust people and now happily accepts treats, affection, and plenty of fuss. Although Frank has made wonderful progress, he can still be a little jumpy around sudden movements and loud noises. For this reason, he is looking for a peaceful home where he will be given the time and space he needs to settle in at his own pace. Once he feels safe, Frank’s affectionate personality begins to shine through. One of Frank’s most endearing traits is the unique little trill he makes when he’s enjoying being stroked, a charming sound that never fails to make his carers smile. It’s just one of the many things that makes this handsome boy so special. Frank would thrive with patient adopters who understand that building trust takes time. In return, they will gain a loving and loyal family member who enjoys gentle attention and will finally feel the love that he so rightly deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive cat who deserves a second chance at happiness, Frank could be the perfect addition to your family. About Frank

What life with Frank looks like

Frank is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre in Bristol.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frank, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frank?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frank on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frank if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frank already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frank isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frank and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
