Freddie

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Freddie is a beautiful black cat with long hair. She has been tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. Freddie is a sweet little cat. She is easy to handle and completely non-aggressive, calm and quiet, even at night! She doesn't demand constant attention, but she needs human companionship and loves cuddles and scratches, starting her purring machine as soon as you give her some. Sometimes she will even groom you and nibble you out of too much love. She likes to spend her days lounging and observing her surroundings. She will never be against a little game, though, and remains a dynamic cat that needs to be stimulated to avoid boredom 🙂 Freddie is not picky about food, but she is not greedy or a thief, and she doesn't seem to climb onto the kitchen table. History: Freddie was brought to CDA with her kitten Kimi after their owner passed away. Ideal placement: in a loving and responsible home with enough space. Freddie is for adoption with her kitten Kimi, they are very close. A secure balcony would be a plus. Contact Yvette at 06 79 03 28 95 (after 6 PM on weekdays and weekends), by email or online form.

About Freddie

What life with Freddie looks like

Freddie is a small puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
