Freddie is playful, curious and loves to be involved in everything. He adores toys, zoomies, climbing and generally causing mischief! 😹 He's a real people cat who loves company, attention and being close to his humans. He's happy to be stroked and loves a belly rub, but he doesn't like being picked up and isn't currently much of a lap cat . He's more of a curl-up-beside-you kind of boy. 🏑 Freddie needs to be an only cat. He can be quite dominant with other cats and has previously shown some spraying around male cats. We haven't tested him with dogs, so we'd be very cautious. He would also be best without small pets due to his strong chasing instincts. He hasn't lived with children, but could potentially live with older, cat-savvy children who understand his boundaries. 🧼 Freddie does need weekly ear cleaning. His ears have been checked by the vets and there are no mites. They have improved, but he can still be sensitive, so his new owner needs to be confident handling a strong, wriggly cat for this. 🚽 He's litter trained but likes two large, very clean litter trays and is an enthusiastic digger! Freddie is an indoor cat and would love a home where someone is around a lot to give him the attention and playtime he craves. A secure outdoor space would be a bonus. This lovely boy is full of character and just wants to find someone who will appreciate his funny, cheeky ways. ❀️ APPLY HERE CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM

About Freddie

What life with Freddie looks like

Freddie is a large kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Freddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
