Freddie

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

I’m a very friendly and loving boy, I just want to be everyone’s friend! Hi, my name is Freddie.I am around 18 months old and am sadly looking for my third (that the humans knows of) home! I was recently taken on a few months ago by a lovely lady who really loved me and cared for me really well. I wasn’t vaccinated or neutered before she got me, so she had all of this done for me. I was only with her for a couple of months but I definitely received all the care and love that I deserved (and needed). Sadly, a family member of hers is very ill and she felt that she could no longer give me the time and care that I need, so she made the very difficult decision to find me a new home.I settled in straight away here at the sanctuary. I was a little nervous for a couple of days but then was absolutely fine and wanting fuss and cuddles from everyone! My carer says I’m a lovely boy, and everybody who meets me falls in love with me. We recently had an open day here at the sanctuary and I was a firm favourite with all the visitors. I took great pleasure in showing myself off- rubbing up the glass windows and rolling onto my back to show them all my beautiful tummy. I really do just want to love everyone, and I hope very soon that someone will choose me to be a new addition to their family. I am quite easy with my requests for a home and family. As I am such a friendly boy, I could live with children. As long as they listen to the bigger humans and give me time to adapt and settle when I first come home, and give me space when I need it. I do see myself forming a lovely bond with children as we grow up together and being a little shadow to everyone. As I am only a young boy, I am very playful so will need an active home with humans who are able to give me the attention and care that I need, and will play with me when I want but also be there purely for company when I want some chill time too.I could live with another cat(s), but can be a little wary with new cats at first. Slow and steady introductions will need to be made, so any potential adopters will need to consider whether they have the time to do this. If introduced correctly, I do enjoy the company of other cats, and would love to have a feline sibling to love and play with. I could also live happily as an only cat, as long as I have lots of attention from my human family. I am a bit nervous of dogs, so would prefer to find a home without them, however in the future, once I have settled in and made myself at home, perhaps I would welcome a doggy friend too.In my previous homes, I have had access to outdoors and been able to explore. I would enjoy this in my next home too, however as I’m such an easy-going lad, my carer thinks that I would be perfectly fine living as an indoor only cat too. If I am adopted as an indoor only cat, I will need sufficient space and lots of enrichment like toys, scratch posts, cat trees etc to keep me entertained.

About Freddie

What life with Freddie looks like

Freddie is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Wythall Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wythall Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wythall Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wythall Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
