adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Freddie has hit the jackpot! His story: Attention, here comes our supermodel Freddie. Freddie, the little fluffy guy, comes with almost black fur and a white bib. When you look at him, you immediately get a good mood. Freddie is a happy, totally sweet, and friendly dog. Freddie was found on a street, about 20 km from Bistrita. The family that rescued him was just on their way to Bistrita and brought him into our care. Freddie is likely to grow to medium size. What breeds are in him, we simply cannot say at this point. One thing is certain: Freddie is a very successful wonder package. Freddie is looking for people who don't expect anything from him at first and show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes, a little mishap shouldn't be held against him, and Freddie should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with beautiful nature walks, many snuggling hours, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently—but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Freddie is ready when you are. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. After a positive But also a foster home would already serve as a springboard into a happy dog life for the little guy. Who gives Freddie a chance so he doesn't spend his childhood in the shelter? Thanks, Nikolett T.! You gave the little funny Freddie a wonderful name and paved the way into a happy dog life. Status: 16.07.

Stand: 16.07.2024

About Freddie

What life with Freddie looks like

Freddie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
