Adopt Freddy

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Freddy and two companions (already happily adopted) were rescued from a Noah's Ark syndrome in Galicia, ending up in the dog pound where their lives became sad, hard, and difficult. As a result, they arrived with us full of fear, but after being welcomed and adopted, they took giant steps as that bad life was left behind. However, no one has given Freddy the opportunity to be fostered or adopted... and in our minishelter, they remain an invisible dog who only knows such days. If fostered or adopted, we have no doubt that, like their companions or other dogs that came in similar conditions, Freddy would undergo a radical change and their happiness would improve by leaps and bounds: ????? foster care: Palencia, Valladolid or surroundings, we cover expenses. ????? ADOPTION: all of Spain and even abroad, the family must come to pick them up. Freddy gets along well with other dogs (we don't know about cats). If you want to be the present and future of Freddy, who is a sweetheart, ask us how to make it possible: they need you, they are waiting for you. ????? Contact: 667849696 - 657961568 www.protectoradepalencia.org ????? Photo album of Freddy: Search on Instagram: follow them! If you can't foster or adopt, help us spread the word, share, give a like... You never know which "share" will lead them to their home.

A consecuencia de eso, llegaron a nosotros con mucho miedo, aunque ellas que fuero acogidas y adoptadas, dieron y pasos agigantados al ver que esa mala vida quedaba atrás. About Freddy

What life with Freddy looks like

Freddy is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
