Freddy

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Freddy is the kind of dog who may look impressive at first glance, but wins hearts instantly with his gentle and loving personality. This handsome young male, standing approximately 71 cm tall at the shoulder, is an incredibly friendly, affectionate and devoted companion. Despite his large size, Freddy is truly a gentle giant. We found him wandering along the roadside, and without hesitation he chose to jump into our car and follow us wherever we were going, trusting us completely from the very first moment. We estimate his date of birth to be January 2025. Freddy is looking for a home where he will have space, freedom and plenty of love. Walking on a leash is still new to him, but with patience and consistency he will surely learn quickly. He is an intelligent dog who enjoys human companionship and forms strong bonds with people. He is fully ready for his new life: vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and with a health passport. Now all he needs is a loving family who will appreciate hi

About Freddy

What life with Freddy looks like

Freddy is an extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea in Oradea.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddy?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddy if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Freddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddy isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
