Freddy

Male · Young · 1 year

Dog sizes vary greatly. The following categories help you better understand the world of small, medium, large and giant dogs. It is important to take into account weight, height and body structure. Freddy is the kind of dog that impresses at first sight with his imposing appearance, but wins definitively with his gentle and loving soul. This wonderful boy, with a height of about 71 cm at the withers, is an extremely friendly, affectionate and devoted dog. Although his size may seem intimidating to some, Freddy is actually a gentle giant who is only looking for love and security. I found him wandering by the road, and he chose to get into our car by himself and start going with us into the unknown, having complete trust that we were taking him to a better place. We estimate that he was born in January 2025. Freddy needs space, freedom and lots of affection. Walks on a leash are still something new for him, but with a little patience and consistency he will learn quickly and become a wonderful companion. He is an intelligent dog, eager to create a strong bond with his person. He is ready to go to his new family: he is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and has a health certificate. All he is missing is a home where he will be loved, respected and appreciated as he truly deserves.

About Freddy

What life with Freddy looks like

Freddy is a extra-large young adult dog waiting at SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea in Sisterea.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
