Adopt FREYJA

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Senior · 9 years

She was abandoned on Christmas Day at a gas station, very disoriented and approaching everyone looking for her owner. FREYJA has spent practically her entire life at the animal shelter. Since then, her personality has changed. Now she is more reserved with some dogs but is sociable and quite active. We don't know how she would behave in an apartment, but what we do know is that she is super happy with plenty of land and fields to run in. She is a very active dog, so we are looking for a family that can give her everything she demands, plenty of running and exercise, which is fundamental for this breed. She needs the opportunity to do sports and have good socialization. Help us find the home she deserves. She is a PPP mix, so she needs a license.

About FREYJA

What life with FREYJA looks like

FREYJA is a large senior american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Arca de Noé in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting FREYJA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FREYJA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arca de Noé handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FREYJA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FREYJA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arca de Noé will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FREYJA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FREYJA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arca de Noé early rather than rehoming privately; they know FREYJA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
