Frida

Frida, a story of rebirth and hope Frida is a beautiful cat with a big heart and deep eyes, a guest at our animal shelter for abandoned cats. She arrived with us after being found injured on the roadside, a victim of an accident that left her with severe intestinal and kidney damage. Thanks to the loving care of our volunteers and ongoing veterinary checks, today Frida is doing well, but her feeding must be constantly monitored and followed with great attention. For this reason, Frida is not suitable for apartment life: she needs her space, the tranquility of the animal shelter, and a controlled environment where we can take care of her every day. However, even though she cannot be adopted in the traditional sense, Frida can be adopted remotely. With a remote adoption, you can support her in her veterinary care, the purchase of her specific food, and daily expenses, receiving updates and photos to closely follow her life at the animal shelter. Our association, which has been fighting against abandonment and feralism for over 20 years, welcomes cats in need, offering them care, protection, and love. Every remote adoption represents a concrete gesture to ensure a peaceful future for those who have already suffered too much. Supporting Frida means giving her security, well-being, and affection. She is a special cat, one that, despite everything, retains an infinite sweetness and a contagious will to live. Help us continue to write her story of rebirth: adopt Frida remotely and become part of our big family that every day fights to give a second chance to abandoned cats. About Frida

What life with Frida looks like

Frida is a small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali in Italy.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frida, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frida?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frida on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frida if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frida already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frida isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frida and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
