Frida

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Here comes Frida – our charming, playful Jagdhund-Mix female dog, born in December 2023, making a little bit of color to everyone’s day! With her distinctive, witty mustache and all the white spots on her black fur, as if someone had hosted a color splash party, she’s already visually a true one-of-a-kind. Add to that her speckled “stockings,” making her look like she’s straight out of a cartoon. But Frida impresses not only with her appearance. She’s a sunny, all-around character, friendly, open-minded, and brings a large portion of curiosity and snuggle joy. Those who have been smiled at by her know how quickly her charm works! Frida is spirited and active, wanting to be kept busy and loving it when she’s mentally and physically challenged and encouraged. On the leash, she already runs beautifully and looks forward to shared walks and adventures. As befits a Jagdhund-Mix, Frida has a certain prey drive – but she’s very eager to learn and always tries to please her best friends. With training and a bit of humor, Frida will surely become the perfect companion. She needs people who enjoy explaining the world to her, fostering her, and providing her with the necessary stimulation. Frida gets along well with other dogs, playing happily in a group and is also friendly and open-minded to children. Frida’s story is as unique as she is: One day, she wandered alone through a park. That was too boring for her – so she joined a dog-loving lady who was walking with her dogs. Frida followed the group all the way home, where she was allowed to stay for a while. After her quarantine period, she has arrived at Arca Sevilla and is ready for her next big step: a real home! So, if you’re looking for a cheerful, cuddly, and adventure-loving companion who brings love, mental stimulation, and a secure home, you should definitely meet Frida. She looks forward to people who give her love, mental stimulation, and a safe home – and promises to bring a lot of good cheer into your life!

DE·Show original

About Frida

What life with Frida looks like

Frida is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frida, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frida?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frida on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frida if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frida already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frida isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frida and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
