Adopt Frida (Фріда)

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 17 years

Frida is an extraordinary dog, at least because she understands three languages, Ukrainian, American and Albanian. Her story began many years ago, when she was a puppy born in one of the shelters in Albania, where she was seen by an American David, who came to the animal shelter as a volunteer. He decided to give her a home and took her to America. After some time, he came to Ukraine, and Frida was his faithful companion. For the last nine years, they lived in Ukraine. David decided to spend his old age in his homeland. Two years ago, he returned to America. Unfortunately, due to age, he was no longer able to take Frida with him. But he chose our animal shelter as a new home for his friend. Frida is a very independent dog, she knows what it's worth, and prefers to relax in the sun rays rather than in the cool grass, than loud dog entertainment with other four-legged ones from our shelter. The little dog is only placed in the city Dnipro.

About Frida (Фріда)

What life with Frida (Фріда) looks like

Frida (Фріда) is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Dnipro in Ukraine.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frida (Фріда), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frida (Фріда)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Dnipro handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frida (Фріда) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frida (Фріда) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Dnipro will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frida (Фріда) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frida (Фріда) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Dnipro early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frida (Фріда) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
