Fridolin

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Fridolin can travel directly to his final home! His story: Baia Mare, Romania. Teddybär Seeks a Family! Fridolin came to us like most of our dogs without a history at the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. But no matter what he has already experienced or endured, he hasn't lost his faith in people and greets them kindly. He also gets along well with his fellow animals and wishes for great doggy meet-ups in his new home. According to his age, he is active, open-minded, and hopeful and looks forward to being found by his people soon, so he doesn't have to stay long in the cold, dirty, and noisy shelter. Fridolin is likely around 2 years old and about 45 cm tall. He has big, round button eyes and a dark, soft fur that waits to be stroked. Our bear has a short tail, so he unfortunately cannot enter Switzerland. For Fridolin, we wish for loving adopters who will show him how wonderful life as a house dog is and teach him the rules of cohabitation in a household, because it's likely that Fridolin hasn't heard of housecleaning or leash manners before. But we assume that he will learn all of this quickly if he is consistently and lovingly trained. We recommend attending a positively working dog training class to support him. Do you want to be this person? Then contact us! Even a spot in a foster kennel would greatly help and support him in his start in a new life. The handsome fellow travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. In his travel bag, he also packs his EU Pet Passport. Many thanks for the lovely name, Mae, you have given our Fridolin an identity.

About Fridolin

What life with Fridolin looks like

Fridolin is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fridolin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fridolin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fridolin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fridolin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fridolin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fridolin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fridolin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
