Frieda

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Frieda has found her people! Her story: Our little Frieda is an approximately 3-month-old female kitten and something quite special, because female red cats are super rare. Additionally, the little mouse is sitting in a cage due to acute space constraints… until her travel arrangements… The little mite was found in a pitiful state next to a trash container, where she desperately searched for food. She was very dirty and suffered from parasitic otitis (ear mites). Moreover, she was skinny and had to fend for herself in the harsh life of a street cat. In our intake station, she was properly nourished and shows herself here as an alert kitten that gets along well with other cats. She also knows small dogs and could also live very well with them. She must not live in single caging at all. After an appropriate adjustment period, a free run could also be an option for her, so long as her new home is in a safe area. Frieda should finally be able to enjoy life. She is a playful but still quiet kitten that longs for affection and a loving home. Before little Frieda moves into her new home in September, she will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has already been tested negative for FIV and FeLV to ensure her health. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Frieda

What life with Frieda looks like

Frieda is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frieda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frieda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frieda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frieda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frieda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frieda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frieda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
