Frieda und Kitten

Female · Young · 2 years

A helicopter mother is searching for a loving home for her offspring. Or rather, not... but the caregivers...:-) What kind of impudence is being offered here? Unbelievable! One struggles, endures a pregnancy with triplets, which is exhausting enough, brings the healthy and lively into the world, makes sure that nothing is lacking for the dear little ones... and then has to be accused of being a helicopter mother? Just because I defended my offspring with teeth and claws like a lioness... O tone of the animal caregivers. I protected them from the caregivers' fingers. It was also absolutely necessary. Every morning, they tried to snatch my little ones, to look at them, to touch them, and who knows what else. (It wasn't that bad, but a check of the kittens is necessary at intervals, note of the caregivers) Of course, I grabbed them by the nape of the neck and rescued them into the safe sleeping box. Who knows what they would have done to them... I still do that today. Admittedly, it's not so easy to manage at 9 weeks, all three are quick as a weasel and just don't want to obey. They like to romp and play, and the box looks like someone had a bomb explode... but what can a mother do, the most important thing is that the dear little ones are happy. And they are. So I'm now looking for a selected home for all three. I would love it if we all moved into a new home together, then I would always have them in sight and could make sure that the two-legged ones don't make any mistakes and don't hurt my children. Since that is obviously not possible, of course, all adoption applications go through my paws. I check them all very carefully before I make a decision. Not the first ones, no, the best ones are just good enough for my heartbeats... Only when I have done that, I look for a new home for myself. I will not stay here on any account... PS: Here the TH management and the caregiving team briefly intervene. Of course, a good loving home is being sought for Filly (white-black female), Fenja (black-white, female) and Fridolin (gray-striped with white, male). But we don't want to overdo it. No one has to submit a police record. Animal adoptions are currently only taking place by appointment. We therefore ask you to contact us in advance by phone at 05481 / 4146 or by e-mail if you are interested in one of our animals.

About Frieda und Kitten

What life with Frieda und Kitten looks like

Frieda und Kitten is a young adult cat waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frieda und Kitten, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frieda und Kitten?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frieda und Kitten on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frieda und Kitten if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frieda und Kitten already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frieda und Kitten isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frieda und Kitten and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
