adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Friedbert has found his people! His story: In early July, Friedbert was allowed to move into a loving foster family, where he immediately captured everyone's hearts with his open, people-oriented, and playful nature. With his special, black-and-white fur pattern, he is a true eye-catcher and is developing into a real prince – a heart with four legs that is simply adorable. The little puppy shows a very trusting and clingy behavior towards people. He is curious, friendly, cheerful, and full of energy. He loves to explore the world and discover new things. At home, he lives harmoniously with cats and other dogs and romps around in the garden with great enthusiasm. Outside, he finds everything exciting, is already very eager to go, and wants to keep up with the big dogs. He already runs quite well on a leash, likes everything and everyone, and even masters car rides with great panache. For a little puppy, he is surprisingly uncomplicated and adaptable. At home, he also feels comfortable. New sounds, such as the vacuum cleaner, do not scare him. Friedbert learns quickly and has already made great progress – sit clicks after a short time already wonderfully. At night, he sleeps quietly next to his people and seeks a lot of contact. Older children find him wonderful and look forward to shared adventures. Of course, this little charmer still has a lot to learn, but precisely that makes the shared time so special. He looks forward to growing together with you – with patience, loving consistency, and a large portion of fun. If you are looking for a loyal companion with a lot of charm, you might find your soulmate in this puppy. A rural environment with a garden would be ideal to offer him sufficient movement, playful mental stimulation, and cuddle time. After a positive adoption, he is microchipped, vaccinated, and brings his EU pet passport. Has the little Friedbert already wrapped you around his little paws? Many thanks, Verena. You have given Friedbert his beautiful name and thus a personal identity. Status: 14.07.

Stand: 14.07.2025

About Friedbert

What life with Friedbert looks like

Friedbert is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Friedbert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Friedbert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Friedbert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Friedbert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Friedbert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Friedbert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Friedbert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
