Fritzi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Fritzi has found a home! Her story: 23611 Bad Schwartau. The pretty Fritzi has made it! From the terrible shelter Baia Mare to a foster home. Now she waits for your visit and hopes for a quick, own home! Fritzi was initially a bit reserved – but her eyes soon began to sparkle when she knew she was safe. She quickly adapted to her surroundings, and even traffic doesn’t bother her. She also reacts friendly and open-minded when meeting strangers and other dogs. She also likes playing with larger dogs, but she hasn’t met smaller dog playmates yet. Our pretty blonde already runs well on a leash. Only at rabbits and deer does she show a prey drive, so a cat in her vicinity should be avoided. She can also be left alone for a while, but currently has company from only dog. Unfortunately, Fritzi brought bad teeth from Romania – so a dental procedure is needed. We estimate Fritzi to be around 8 years old, and with a height of 50 cm and a weight of 25 kg, she is a medium-sized, for her age rather calm and modest female dog. Fritzi looks into the camera with beautiful, trusting eyes – she seems to sense that everything now depends on her. Fritzi hasn’t lost her trust in people. She shows this clearly, as she is very attached to people. We wish for Fritzi warm and patient adopters who have a lot of time for the clingy female dog so she can make up for the lost time on the streets of Romania as a happy and loved family dog. After the initial adjustment period, Fritzi will surely be happy about a visit to a positively working dog training class, as regular training will strengthen her self-confidence and the bond to her new people. She is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport for travel to her new home. Do you perhaps have a spot in your home and heart for the pretty Fritzi? Many thanks, dear Moni. You gave Fritzi her beautiful name and thus her own identity.

About Fritzi

What life with Fritzi looks like

Fritzi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fritzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fritzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fritzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fritzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fritzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fritzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fritzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
