Fritzi

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Fritzi has found his happiness! His story: At our Fritzi, joie de vivre meets terrier heart. Before being found, he was alone on the mountains – but his open nature didn’t suffer a single day. Today, the approximately 1.5-year-old male dog lives in the outdoor area of a Romanian foster home and shows himself to be an incredibly friendly and lively fellow. Toward people, Fritzi is open and warm – he doesn’t hide the fact that he really likes them. He also gets along well with the other dogs on site and shows pleasant social behavior. We couldn’t test how he reacts to cats. The sweet mixed-breed male dog, with a shoulder height of about 45 cm, is the perfect blend of handy and robust. His distinctive appearance, with a slightly frizzy muzzle and black-brown fur, immediately reveals his terrier components. Terriers are generally known for their intelligence, courage, and eagerness to learn – sit still? Prefer to explore the world! And yes, sometimes they also show their own minds – but that only makes them more lovable. In Fritzi lies a curious, alert, and active character. He wants not only physical but also mental stimulation – long walks, exciting games, or brain games surely bring him great joy. Whether his nose will become a real scenting nose remains to be seen – breed-wise, potential could be present. Like many of our charges, Fritzi still needs to learn how life in the house works and how to safely navigate daily life. For this, he will need orientation, clear structures, and especially a sensitive guide. A visit to a qualified dog training class could be a perfect addition to deepen the dog basics and bring variety into his daily training. Who has fallen in love with Fritzi and wants to experience how much joy a terrier can bring to life? A foster home would also be warmly welcome! Many thanks, Simone, for taking over his namasponsoring. As of: 23.10. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 23.10.2025

About Fritzi

What life with Fritzi looks like

Fritzi is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fritzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fritzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fritzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fritzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fritzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fritzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fritzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
