Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.BREED: BeagleSEX: Male (Neutered)AGE: Aprox. 4 YearsSIZE: Medium (15 Kg)Frodo is a very handsome young Beagle type boy who has not seen much of the world in his young life, and although he is a very cheerful and waggy chap, he does lack confidence and although he is trying so very hard to cope, he is going to need a kind and caring owner to teach him, to help him and encourage him, and he will need to be re-homed with another dog of a steady temperament who can be a mentor friend to Frodo as he learns all about the world. He is so sweet, with a lovely soft nature and a happy attitude to life but he does get worried in new situations so needs careful coaching about things to build his confidence.Frodo is unknown with children and at the movement, the normal noisy play of younger children might worry him so we would not wish to place him with youngsters under 10 years. He is unknown with cats. He has been used to other dogs and is a very sociable chap with other canines. Frodo is just learning how to walk on the lead and will also need to learn lots of other canine life skills. He will need careful and consistent handling as he is introduced to the world in general. He will need company most of the time. He is a very good an tolerant dog to handle, travels well in the car, and is going to make a super dog with the right help.When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands.
